Owen Barry Leather Bean Bags are made from Italian leather sourced from the tanneries of Tuscany. When the leather arrives in the UK, it stays in storage until a customer places an order. On ordering, a master leather-worker at the Owen Barry (Somerset) workshop will select a section of leather and make your bean bag especially for you. INTERNAL BAG each bean bag has an internal bag with secure velcro access to the beans. This enhances the bean bag's strength and allows the user to adjust the bean volume to suit his/her comfort requirements. The outer leather bag has zip access, made discrete by a retention pouch
HIGH QUALITY ITALIAN LEATHER the high grade leather for this product comes from the world-renowned tanneries of Italy, and has been through the most extensive chromium tanning processes to make the hide soft, yet inducing durability and scuff-resistance in to the leather
DOUBLE LOCK-STITCHING TECHNIQUES each seam is double stitched, using the lock-stitch technique for optimum strength and durability. The needles used for the stitch have a pre-cutting mechanism, so the stitch holes are not roughly punctured, but neatly created. The thread used is 100% polyamide, again to ensure durability. Quality manufacture comes as standard
VIRGIN BEAN FILLING the bean filling is virgin grade, for comfort springiness and longevity
EASY CLEAN simply wipe with a damp cloth
FIRE APPROVED being made from leather, you can expect high levels of fire safety from leather bean bags, although we can confirm that they are fully government approved to BS5852 standards
CARE cleaning = wipe with a damp cloth when necessary; preservation = we recommend the application of leather polish or saddle soap once a year to keep the leather supple

Fantastic quality grained leather and colour, really yummy farrow and ball type cream, not that horrible yellowy cream colour. The bottom is a different light cream and is also leather which is great and a different tough leather so won't wear through. The handle is on the edge of the two leathers at the bottom so that leaves a brilliant round beanbag you can make into a nice chair without a handle sticking in your back. I got the 10 panel, my kids are 5&7 and as its so big they have a headrest and can grow into it, my youngest is using it as a bed and loves it, as do I. A fantastic quality product with made in somerset and union jack tags. Finished off really professionally and having bought with the worry of not knowing what it would be like (and I'm fussy). I was absolutely over the moon. Lovely polite people to deal with and it came in under a week from ordering. Brilliant service. Thank you to all

I've got to say that for a UK made product this is very good value indeed. You can smell the leather as soon as you remove the bean bag from the polythene wrap it is delivered in - so no problems there. The shape, the label, and everything about it says good quality. I've seen faux leather bean bags that aren't far off the price of this, so I can recommend from all angles.

It took a little while longer than expected for my chocolate bean bag to arrive (10 days late), but I will give Dan in customer services his due, and say that he kept me well informed on what was going on. The bag itself is very good indeed. Strong, supple, cosey, and with that unmistakable smell of leather that keeps you in the know that you have a quality product. Would recommend.
